Children learn various things when they are young, such as learning about colors. Parents can teach their children to recognize colors through some simple and interesting methods. So, what are the methods for teaching children to distinguish colors? Let me recommend a few to you and see which one is suitable for your baby.

1. Food

Take your child to the kitchen. You can use colors to name certain foods. For example, yellow ginger, white salt, brown bread, and so on. You can also do this when giving children some food to eat. After a while, show the children this type of food again, and then use colors instead of food names to ask the children.

2. Painting

Use crayons and watercolor pens to draw things with specific colors, and when children draw this thing, only give them the corresponding color. For example, on a day when children only draw red things, they can draw roses, watermelons, fire trucks, mailboxes, and so on. This is a great way to become familiar with colors. Just make sure to repeat the color name every time the children draw a new picture.

3. Natural Journey

Go to a piece of paper and stick some paper of different colors on it. Then, take your children on a natural journey while letting them find the objects corresponding to each color on the paper. For example, green leaves, brown mud, red roses, and white pebbles.

4. Books

Choose storybooks with a large number of colorful pictures and a small amount of text for children. Continuously read the children a repeated story and point to the corresponding color while reading. After reading these colors to the children several times, ask them to name them.

5. Toys

Let your child use a magnet to attract some colored things. Just asking the child to say the color may not achieve the desired effect. In this case, you can take out a piece of paper of the corresponding color.

6. Basket

Buy some baskets of different colors and tell your child which toys should be placed in which color baskets. For example, puzzles are placed in a yellow basket, and books are placed in a blue basket. Repeat these for a few days, then have the child put the toys in the corresponding basket. This not only teaches children to recognize colors, but also helps them learn how to do household chores.

7. Photos

Print out photos of children wearing clothes of different colors, mark the colors, stick them on cardboard, and hang them on the wall. Whenever there is an opportunity, point to the picture and tell the child where he is wearing clothes of what color.

8. Shopping

When you go shopping, tell your child the color of the product. Blue jeans, red tomato sauce bottle, yellow shampoo.

9. A bag of gems

Buy a bag of gems and pour them all into a bowl. Then ask the child to distinguish colors one by one. After distinguishing everything, you can give your child a few gems they like as a reward.

10. Dancing

Place the colored cardboard on the floor. Then have the children stand on this floor and play their favorite songs. Let the children dance until the music stops. At this point, you can say a color, and after you say that color, the children should immediately jump onto the corresponding cardboard.
